The Post I’ve Waited Three Years to Write

adoption announcement

It took three years and a lot of ups and downs but last week we got the call:

we have a son

Raeca has a little brother

We are all a little (okay, a LOT) excited!

Obviously I’ll share more soon, but right now I just want to say: thank you. It’s been a journey and we know that we’ve have many people praying for us for the last few years, we so appreciate it.

    Planting Seeds

A couple of weeks ago Raeca planted wildflowers in a couple of little pots and while we were sitting on the deck doing the planting I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of seeds I am planting now. 1. Wow! Congratulations! I am beyond excited for you!
Will and I want to adopt some day. Our friends all get bitten by the baby bug, but we get the adoption itch instead. It’s such a beautiful picture of how God accepts anyone indiscriminately into is his family.
Our little sister is adopted from China. She’s the best, and aside from her skin color and eye shape you’d never know she wasn’t blood, because to all of us she is!
Again, soooooo excited for you! I can’t wait to read more!

  2. What wonderful, wonderful news, Chantel! It reminds me of Proverbs 13:12, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Waiting on God is never easy. It feels like wasted time, but truly there is much good going on in the process under the surface…and when the waiting is over, it makes what we were waiting for so much sweeter and more precious! So thankful your period of waiting is coming to a close, and may God bless you and your family, including your new son!!
